Issamba means "come together" in Cameroon.
Issamba is an opportunity for British Columbians to come together to celebrate African cultures during an intimate night of music and dance, featuring world-renowned African artists. These artists travel from abroad, gracing Victoria with their special talents and aspects of their culture to Victoria.
The 90 minute show gives audience members a glimpse into the rich and diverse musical culture of Africa.
By giving the audience this glimpse into the rich and diverse musical culture of Africa, this two hour show is an invaluable experience you won't want to miss.

ISSAMBA 2018
Mamadou Diabate: world-renowned balafon (African xylophone) player who was born in Burkina Faso. He tours worldwide but currently lives in Austria, where he’s been honing his art to perfection.
Merlin Nyakam: Master of African and Afro-Contemporary dance, born in Cameroon and currently lives in Paris where he travels around the world teaching and performing.
Adama Dembele Bilorou: Legendary percussionist from Paris.
Salif Lasso Sanou: Montreal-based African flute specialist.
Akra Soumah: Ottawa-based dundunfola (African base drum) player.
Amara Kanté: Master percussionist was born in Guinea and currently lives in Toronto (Issamba 2017)
